"Studio in a School provides children with the invaluable experience and guidance of a professional artist, high-quality art materials, in-depth creative experience, and the joy of making art.
STUDIO hires only professional artists to teach its programs, because they can demonstrate how an artist works and thinks. Our students learn that art is more than a skill, but a process of exploration and discovery.
STUDIO has developed unique expertise in the field of art education, with in-depth programs focusing exclusively on visual art (drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, sculpture, and two-dimensional applied design). Studio has extensive experience organizing the facilities, materials, schedules, and training that enable art making to become an integral part of students' education.
STUDIO fosters collaboration through multiple planning sessions and developing strong, long-term relationships with sites' staffs. In roundtable discussions, Studio artists, teachers, and administrators work together to develop lesson plans responsive to students' interests as well as curriculum requirements."
