The Children’s Nature Institute is proud to host the 2nd annual Urban Nature Walk-A-Thon in Griffith Park. More fun than a traditional 5k the walk will be led along Griffith Park’s trails by park naturalists who will highlight local flora and fauna. Through their hands-on, nature-based environmental education programs tailored specifically to young children, CNI has been connecting children (and adults) to nature in the greater Los Angeles area for over 20 years, introducing more than 280,000 young children, parents and teachers to the wonders of their urban natural environment. These programs are provided free of charge thanks to donations from individuals, foundations and corporate sponsors. CNI’s program curriculum is based on the California Department of Education’s Language Arts and Sciences standards.
